A number of Wellington Girls’ College athletes represented Wellington at the North Island Secondary School Athletics Champs in Hamilton over the weekend of 10-11 April.
Poppy Healy (Year 10) ran a great 300m race and got 3rd place in the Junior division which is brilliant, she also came 7th in the Junior 200m. Charlotte Green (Year 10) came 7th in the Junior girls hurdles and 14th in the Junior girls long jump. Poppy and Charlotte got a 2nd in the Junior 4x100m relay. Maddi King (Year 13) got 7th in the Senior hammer throw, Hannah Evett (Year 13) came 5th in the Senior 800m. Bebe Newman (Year 12) was 4th in the Senior 100m. Asha Young (Year 9) came 2nd in Junior Girls Javelin with a Personal Best of 28.56m which was a great result in the rain.
