Teal, Teal Voices and the WC and WGC Combined Choir took part in the two day Big Sing Choral Festival last week at the Michael Fowler Centre.
We are very proud of all our choirs and the 110 students who were involved.
Congratulations to Teal Voices for winning the Rachel Tipping Cup for the best performance in category 3 (they sang an arrangement of a French song by Debussy), the Victoria University of Wellington College of Education Cup for the best performance of a NZ Song (for The Tree of Love by Auckland composer David Hamilton), and a certificate for an excellent performance of the second of  Eric Whitacre’s Five Hebrew Songs.
Congratulations also to Teal for an adjudicator’s choice certificate for their performance of Waldesnacht by Brahms.
Well done to our student accompanists Charlie Hamblin and Lillian Merrall for their sensitive work on piano and flute.
