Since 2005 Letz Live has specialised in the recruitment of New Zealand gap year assistants in schools (traditionally boarding schools) across Australia, Thailand and the United Kingdom. All positions offered to potential applicants from Wellington Girls’ College will be provided with board and lodging in addition to a weekly stipend during their time abroad. Depending on the country of destination, placements are either six or eleven months in duration.
With dozens of new host schools already committed for the 2020 intake year, we are now better placed than ever before to offer this year’s graduating class (current year 13’s) an overseas gap year opportunity once their time at Wellington Girls’ College concludes; something we are hugely excited and passionate about!
I am thrilled to advise that the overwhelming majority of 2018 applicants (who applied prior to the application closing date) were offered a placement with us in 2019 across Australia, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
With the above in mind, I would like to draw your attention to the 2020 closing date. We’re conscious of improving our programme for participants and therefore have decided to bring forward the closing date for 2020 placements to March 8, 2019 with interviews commencing thereafter. We have made the decision to bring our closing date forward this year to allow for greater time to present applicants’ files to prospective hosts abroad.
With a number of applications already received, we are delighted with the response for 2020. We would appreciate your support in forwarding the relevant information regarding our closing date to prospective applicants and of course to their parents via the Wellington Girls’ College communication channels. We are also hosting information evenings across New Zealand should they be of interest to your students.
I am delighted to advise that programme fees will remain unchanged for the third consecutive year and are as competitive as ever. Looking ahead, we will offer more inclusions than in previous years, including additional members of the Letz Live team to ensure a smoother transition for participants into their gap year abroad. Equally, remuneration from our placement partners has increased resulting in a more cost-effective gap year opportunity.
Please also keep me posted on any opportunities for either myself or our team to attend information sessions (both during and after school hours) or to attend a “careers expo” should Wellington Girls’ College be hosting one this year.
