Geography Students lead workshop for Living Streets Aotearoa Conference:
Anna Springer and Hayleigh Bond recently represented Wellington students at the Living Streets Aotearoa Conference. After the school was approached to participate the two students volunteered their time to create a ‘walkshop’ and zine for participants at the conference. The walkshop took participants from the Conference around the streets of Thorndon and around WGC where Anna and Hayleigh shared the history of our school site, safety around the area and students experiences on getting to and from school. The input from a student survey allowed them to share the experiences of over 600 WGC students in their korero to the group. We have heard back from the conference organisers and participants about the amazing experience that these students provided for the group and the learnings that they will take back to their workplaces and organisations – Well done to Hayleigh and Anna.
