A team of 5 WGC students entered the Reserve Bank Monetary Policy Challenge this year and were selected by the RBNZ as 1 of the 6 schools nationwide to progress to the national finals.
This team of 5 were:

Over the space of a month or so this group took on the role of the Reserve Bank. They gathered information and indicators on the NZ economy and made a decision around the OCR (interest rates), before submitting this in a 5 minute video presentation and a 300 word Maximum Monetary Policy Statement.
I have attached their statement submitted to the Reserve Bank for those wishing to have a read. It is quite technical, and due to the word limit, some key economic terms/concepts were used without explanation assuming the RBNZ would understand. Any questions around their work I’m sure the students would be happy to chat about what they were looking at.
