NZ Brain Bee Challenge 2020

 Calling all Science Superstars!

The New Zealand Brain Bee Challenge starts soon!

A friendly but high-level academic competition designed for Year 11 students who are keen to pursue a career in science or just want to be part of something amazing.

Brain Bee is a competition to test the knowledge of the brain and how it functions.

Round one is an online quiz where all students compete against themselves to be awarded a seat in round two – the North and South Island Regional Champs. Those that make it through to round two will go on to compete in both an individual competition and a schools competition.

Whilst all parts of this competition provide students with great additional learning in science, the magic really comes into play with round two. Hosted at either Otago University or the University of Auckland, the regional championships open students up to life at university where they get the chance to meet leading scientists who live and breathe research on a daily basis as well as meeting other likeminded students from across New Zealand.

Brain Bee is something unique and special, many past participants have gone on to study science and neuroscience in tertiary education and achieve great success at the international competition.

This year, study material for round 2 will be based on the same Education Perfect online modules studied in Round 1 plus some additional modules on different subjects – no additional book to study from required.
