The North Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence (NACAPE) is offering the availability of two places for (one boy and one girl) on a three-year international baccalaureate programme at the Hiroshima International Global Academy (HiGA) in Japan starting from April, 2023.
HiGA was established by the Hiroshima Board of Education in 2019. Located on the island of Osakikamijima, Hiroshima Global Academy is a prefectural boarding school, integrating both middle and high school. One third of the high school (approx. 60 students) are international students from all over the world, tuition is free, and classes are principally taught in English.
Eligibilty Criteria:
(1) New Zealand citizen, born between April 2nd, 2006, and December 31st, 2008, and has completed equivalent to 9 years of schooling, or will have by August 2023.
(2) Applicant desires to become a future global leader, serving as a bridge between New Zealand and Hiroshima.
(3) Applicant has a high academic aptitude and has received ‘excellence’ on their previous two years of education
(4) Applicant has the will to learn about and be accepting of many different cultures, beginning with Japanese and Japanese culture.

On April 30, 2022 HiGA will share information about the HiGA and eligibility criteria for admissions at their first online session for which details will be sent via email to interested students.
Application forms will be made available late May, 2022 along with a webinar with a focus on admissions.
The final deadline for all applications to join the IB programme will be July 1st, 2022.
