NIWA Science Fair Results: Despite only having five entries to the Science Fair this year we have had some wonderful results, Sophie Hayes in Year 9 has won the Callaghan Innovation prize, First in Class 3 (Year 9), the Royal Society of NZ Wellington Branch Prize for the runner-up best overall exhibit, and the Victoria University of Wellington Faculty of Science Prize for her project on Charging Smart-Watches without having to take them off – amazing!! And Rayha Samin has won a Victoria University of Wellington Faculty of Education Prize for her project on habitable exoplanets – great stuff! If you see either of these students please congratulate them on their dedication and hard work through this year.
