Seeking Y10 Brains!

Year 10 students are invited and encouraged to enter the 2021 Australian and New Zealand Brain Bee Challenge!   Brain Bee is an exciting and free competition for high school students in Year 11 in the 2021 school year, run by the Australasian Neuroscience Society.

The Brain Bee Challenge is a great opportunity to learn about the brain and its functions, neuroscience research, careers in neuroscience, and to dispel misconceptions about neurological and mental illnesses.  Round One is an online multi-choice quiz on the brain, sat by students in March 2021.  Successful students then compete at the North Island final, which is held at the Centre for Brain Research at University of Auckland. It’s a full day of fun quizzes, team activities, and exciting learning experiences at the University.  You might attend seminars by current neuroscience researchers, experience lab techniques in the university teaching labs, and visit an MRI machine, or the medical school’s pathology library!

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please come along to learn more, and sign up in T09 at lunchtime on Friday 27th November.  See you then, and bring your brains!
