VUW Have Cancelled Their Open Day 21 August

We are writing to inform you that given the current uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 alert levels, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Open Day on 21 August. Although we won’t be hosting future students at our campuses or halls, we will be running a Study at Wellington 2021 online information series that will have details about living and studying in Wellington next year, including key dates and next steps.

Our top priority is keeping our school communities safe, while continuing to ensure students, whānau and schools have all the information and support needed to make decisions about future study.

Instead the University will offer our prospective student community an enhanced online experience to bring to life the fantastic student experience at Te Herenga Waka.

To provide students with the information they need, we will provide a series of online resources and videos , which will launch on 21 August.  Students will be able to access and explore information and videos online on subjects, degrees, scholarships, accommodation and more. This Study at Wellington 2021 online series will include further information and digital events throughout term three to support students through their decision-making journey.

Interested students should still register at www.wgtn.ac.nz/open-day so we can keep them informed. To assist students with course planning, we will also be running interactive course planning webinars in September. These webinars will provide students with a general overview of how our degrees, majors and courses work.

We acknowledge that this will be disappointing news for students and their whānau who were planning to attend. Once again, we appreciate your understanding and please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions. We will keep you up to date with our services as we await further government advice, so that we can continue to support you and your students in these challenging times.
