Each year at Wellington Girls’ College, our year 13 students are given the opportunity to select a charity for the school to support over the year
2019 - The Neonatal Trust
In New Zealand one in ten babies are born premature and, with there only being five Neonatal Intensive Care Units across the country, this results in many families having to relocate to look after their sick babies and give them the best chance at life.
The Neonatal Trust aims to help these families both financially and emotionally, ensuring that their transition at what can be the toughest time of their lives is just that little bit easier.
Throughout the year we will be partaking in many fundraisers and activities to help support The Neonatal Trust, raising money and bringing awareness to such an amazing cause.
One of the ways we are doing this is through knitting, with the patterns below being examples for the types of singlets we want to make. We will try to be doing some of this during school hours, but if anybody has any extra time to knit, or for any parents that are interested in helping out, we know that the wee babies would really appreciate it.
Thank you so much for all your support, we can’t wait to see what we can do as a school this year to help so many families across New Zealand.”
