At the NZ Secondary School Athletics and Road Race Champs in December in Hawera, Emma Douglass won the 800m Senior Girls event in 2:14.19, which is a brilliant result. The WGC Junior team also won gold in the 4x400m relay. The team was Katelyn Sceats, Poppy Healy, Molly O’Sullivan and Lara Smith. Molly and Katelyn also both finished 7th in the 800m, and the 400m respectively. Lara (800m) and Poppy (400m) made it to their semi finals too.
Lara Smith and Molly O’Sullivan also competed at the North Island Interprovincial Athletics Champs in Auckland on Saturday. They were running for Wellington and Molly was first in 1500 (with a PB that gives her a national ranking) and third in 800m. Lara came in 7th in the 800m and was in a relay team that got 3rd.
