CCRFs – don’t panic if you get an email like this

If you have applied online for university accommodation, you may get an email from the university you have applied to that looks like this:

“You are receiving this email because your CCRF/ Reference is still pending for your application for a place at [Massey Halls Manawatu] in 2020.

How do I achieve a “COMPLETED” application?

  • Your school needs to send us a reference for you which you can organise via this link. If you have been out of school for more than 12 months you will need to submit the reference form found here.

Regards,…”

If you get this email, DO NOT PANIC. It is a standard email, and doesn’t mean that your school is neglecting you or will let you down.

It is telling you that if you haven’t applied online for a CCRF, you should do so.

But if you have, then you can be confident that I will write your reference by the due date (15 September). I am working through the 100 or so requests that I have received so far, and I am doing them in the order I received them. I have completed about 40, and will do all the others on time (if you apply by the start of September. If you apply later than September 1, I can’t absolutely guarantee that I will complete your reference on time – but I will do my best).

So, if you get this email, you should:

  1. appply online for a CCRF, or if you have done this, then…
  2. do nothing. I will write your reference and the university will receive it. All will be well!
