Changes made for entry into AUT’s Health Science Degrees

Changes to Health Science Degrees

From 2022 all offers of place for undergraduate health science degrees will be made into the unendorsed pathway of the BHSc programme.

All students will be enrolled in the same four courses which will be known as the ‘intermediate semester’. During this first semester of study, students will have the opportunity to apply for a place in specific programme pathways.

The selection process for the specific programmes will be competitive based on a number of factors. These will include academic achievement, equity and entry requirements published in the academic calendar (including reference to the requirements of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act).

During the intermediate semester, information about the selection process (including the number of places available and the criteria for the specific programmes) will be published. Students will have the opportunity to attend programme specific forums during the intermediate semester so they can make an informed choice about programmes they wish to apply for a place.
