The New Zealand Diploma in Child Protection is an NZQA accredited level 5 qualification. Delivered by Child Matters and supported by a number of expert guest speakers, this course provides comprehensive, practical, experientially-based professional education in child protection and advocacy.

Graduates of the New Zealand Diploma in Child Protection will be able to:

  • implement evidence-based and child-centred practice to protect and advocate for children in a range of environments
  • apply advanced strategies to identify, prevent and respond to child abuse and neglect and promote child safety and wellbeing
  • champion a culture of child protection in organisation and community setting
  • facilitate and support families and whānau from diverse cultural contexts in a child centred way to promote child safety and wellbeing

Course Fee – $1,100-00 plus GST (you can contact Studylink for a loan)

The Diploma is made up of:

  • Six 1-Week Blocks (Monday-Friday) – compulsory classroom sessions
  • Eight practical assignments – self-guided tuition

Block 3 – 8th -12th June

Block 4 – 10th -14th August

Block 5 – 5th – 9th October

Block 6 – 23rd – 27th November

Hamilton

Block 1 – 24th – 28th February

Block 2 – 27th April – 1st May

Block 3 – 22nd – 26th June

Block 4 – 24th – 28th August

Block 5 – 19th – 23rd October

Block 6 – 7th – 11th December
