Customer Tech Specialist, Ravensdown

Graduating from Otago University with a BSc in Mathematics and a BCom in Economics and Statistics without a solid plan for the future, Rangi accidentally found herself at Ravensdown, in an agricultural industry she knew nothing about, but has never looked back. Seeing the increasing need that farmers rely on more technology to run their businesses, she took on the role of customer tech specialist where she uses her field knowledge to improve and create the tools farmers need and want.

Ravensdown exists to enable smarter farming for a better New Zealand. Their products, expertise and technology help farmers reduce environmental impacts and optimise value from the land. Whether it’s food grown for livestock or for humans, they are an integral part of the food creation process. Ravensdown is the only co-operative on the planet that tests for, advises, buys, ships, stores, spreads, measures and maps food-creating nutrients and fertiliser in a truly integrated way.

Blair is a digital specialist and IT leader with over 15 years’ experience in the IT industry across a broad range of roles from developer, business analyst, project manager through to people leader.

At Datacom Digital they create and curate connected experiences that resonate with customers across all touchpoints in a way that they expect today.

Sarah Jackson

Software Engineer, Media Suite

Sarah studied a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (majoring in software) at University of Canterbury.

Never thinking she would ever be involved in the construction industry, Sarah’s first role out of university was as a C++ Software Engineer at Trimble enabling guidance/automation to heavy construction machines such as bulldozers, excavators, and graders. Operating these machines manually is incredibly difficult, so Sarah was involved in a product that helped guide machines with accuracy to assist operators using GNSS solutions.

After Trimble, Sarah began her role as a Full Stack Software Engineer at Media Suite.

Media Suite thoughtfully build and design websites, web applications and mobile applications. They have worked with a range of partners such as councils, government, and other entities with sustainability and social progression in mind. Some of these projects included contributing to a government-backed system to help plan/coordinate/collaborate on the Christchurch rebuild, developing a range of environmental science databases which help monitor New Zealand’s natural resources, supporting animal welfare groups and more.
