Tēnā koutou

The NCWNZ Wellington Branch of National Council of Women of New Zealand are hosting this year’s Annual NCWNZ 2019 Conference ‘Organising for Change: Whakarite Mo Te Panonitanga’. They warmly invite guests to the following functions:

  • Parliamentary Functionhosted by the Minister for Women, the Hon Julie Anne Genter in the Banquet Hall at Parliament on Friday 30th August 2019
  • Public Day Conference(panels and workshops with a skills-based emphasis) at the National Library of New Zealand on Saturday 31st August 2019

We have four scholarship tickets available for high school students to our Public Day for NCWNZ 2019 Conference. The Scholarship tickets are $25.00 each instead of $100.00 and are available to Year 12/13 students enrolled in schools in the Wellington region.

To apply for a scholarship, we are asking students to let us know on our NCWNZ Wellington Branch Facebook page one thing they’re doing to help create a #GenderEqualNZ and which school they attend. The competition closes Thursday 15th August 2019 at midnight. Scholarships do not include travel costs. We’re hoping you could share our event with your students as this would be a wonderful opportunity for students.

We’re delighted to showcase a range of speakers including Saunoamaali’i Dr Karanina Sumeo (EEO Commissioner), Dame Catherine Healy, Carol Beaumont, Huia Welton, Sue Moroney, Jan Logie MP, Soraiya Daud, Kiri Allan MP, Nicola Willis MP, New Zealand Family Planning, Kerri Nuku, Amnesty International, Oxfam NZ, Gender Minorities Aotearoa, Action Station, Auckland Young Feminists and so many more!

The programme of events has been designed to build and enhance capabilities to develop and drive more effective advocacy and campaigning efforts. A copy of the programme is attached and the link for registration for anyone interested is http://ncw2019.lilregie.com/
