Wellington Girls’ College is participating in an academic competition called the World Scholar’s Cup this year. This is an international competition celebrating scholarship and teamwork. The regional competition will be held on June 29-30 (which is a half day out of school at Scots College on Monday and a full day on Tuesday at Aotea College).
The competition requires teams of 3 students researching 6 subject areas on the theme of “A World Renewed”. You will participate in a team debate, collaborative essay, multi-choice individual test and a group quiz. See the website here for some idea of the format and subjects this year www.scholarscup.com
If you are interested to know more, come along to a meeting next Friday 13th March at lunchtime in P2D (left breakout room) to watch a short video and chat with students who have competed before. This competition is open to all year levels and you can compete with students from other years if you like.
