Dear Y9 and Y10 students,
This year the Maths Department will carry on running a Maths Club once a fortnight, with sessions happening at lunchtime on Tuesday. The aim of this club is to enrich students’ learning in Mathematics and to provide an extension to the curriculum activities that are being covered in class. All junior students are welcome and encouraged to get involved.
Throughout the year you will be exposed to a variety of problem solving strategies, which will not only benefit you in everyday life, but also help you to feel prepared for Maths competitions, including the Otago Maths Competition, Australian Maths Competition and NZ Mathswell Challenge. You will also have opportunities to work collaboratively with peers to plan, organise and run Math related activities, such as Pi Day in Term 1.
